Officially released Earthworm Jim games

These are the Earthworm Jim video games that have been officially released by Shiny Entertainment in association with Playmates Toys and Activision.

Later rights holders, game developers and publishers of the official Earthworm Jim video games include Interplay Entertainment, VIS Entertainment, Rockstar Games, Atari, and Gameloft.

They include:

  • Earthworm Jim (Shiny Entertainment and Playmates Toys. Released across numerous platforms in 1994.)
  • Earthworm Jim Special Edition (Shiny Entertainment, Playmates Toys and Activision. Released on the Sega CD and Windows 95 in 1995.)
  • Earthworm Jim 2 (Shiny Entertainment. Released on numerous platforms in 1995.)
  • Earthworm Jim 3D (Interplay, VIS and Rockstar Games. Released on the Nintendo 64 and PC in 1999 and 2001, respectively.)
  • Earthworm Jim: Menace 2 the Galaxy (IMS Productions and Crave Entertainment. Released on the Game Boy Color in 1999.)
  • Earthworm Jim HD (Gameloft. Released on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in 2010.)

Asian bootlegs

The first two Earthworm Jim games were unofficially ported for the Famicom numerous times in the Asian market. These bootlegged titles include:

Games cancelled in development

These were to be officially released titles in the series, and of which details were released during pre-production, but were never completed.

  • Numerous features, characters and levels that were to be included in Earthworm Jim 3D (1999) were promoted during its development. Although the game was not cancelled and was released, many of the promoted features were not present in the final game.
  • Earthworm Jim 2003 (an official title cancelled in 2003)
  • Earthworm Jim PSP (an official title cancelled in 2007)
